Fire Detection Systems
Fire detection systems are designed to identify the presence of fire, smoke, or abnormal heat at an early stage and automatically alert occupants and emergency responders. In accordance with South African National Standards (SANS), these systems use devices such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, and control panels to provide timely warnings, reduce risk to life, and limit damage to property.
Conventional Systems
A conventional fire detection system is a fire alarm system that monitors a building by dividing it into zones. Devices such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, and manual call points are connected to a central control panel, which identifies the zone where a fire condition has been detected. Designed in accordance with South African National Standards (SANS), conventional systems provide reliable early warning and are commonly used in small to medium-sized buildings.
Addressable Systems
An addressable fire detection system is an advanced fire alarm system in which each device, such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, and manual call points, has a unique address. This allows the control panel to identify the exact location of a fire or fault. Designed in accordance with South African National Standards (SANS), addressable systems provide precise detection, faster response, and are ideal for medium to large or complex buildings.
Very Early Warning Aspirating Systems
A very early warning aspirating fire detection system continuously draws air samples through a network of small pipes to a highly sensitive detector, allowing smoke to be detected at the earliest possible stage. Designed in accordance with South African National Standards (SANS), these systems provide rapid and reliable fire detection in high-risk or critical environments where early intervention is essential.
Evacuation Systems
Fire evacuation systems are designed to safely guide occupants out of a building in the event of a fire. They integrate alarms, emergency lighting, public address systems, and visual indicators to ensure orderly evacuation. Installed in compliance with South African National Standards (SANS), these systems help protect lives by providing clear, timely instructions during an emergency.
